SEA GODDESS
Skip Find Surf Board on Stainless Steel Legs
There she was, the abandoned sail board, wedged in a skip. Would have been rude not to….
We’ve been playing a bit with Polynesian artwork and this seemed like the ideal canvas to experiment on. Appropriate use of artwork from a culture dependent on and rightfully respectful of the power of the sea.
She represents to us the strength and beauty of feminine form and hints back to the reverential early Earth Goddess forms.
SEA GODDESS looks equally striking inside or outside. She’s not overly heavy but she’s pretty long. The design is done in acrylic paint sprayed over with lacquer so she’ll be happy enough outside. As with any paint though, if it’s used outside, we recommend a re-coat of lacquer every few years or so to protect the design which we cannot guarantee will not fade if subject to years of very bright sunlight.
The board and stainless steel should survive anywhere….. although we don’t advise surfing with it….
IN A PAST LIFE….
This was an end of life board that we pulled out of a skip by the coast. When we found it the fin was broken but apart from that there are no cracks or breaks in the it. The stainless steel was waste from the oil and gas industry and the paint was salvaged from a closing down shop.
