TRAPDOOR TABLE
Large Antique Pine and Steel Coffee Table
Large antique pine coffee table made from a church trapdoor and part of a vintage tractor lifting arm.
Absolutely steeped in history. If you want a strong and durable coffee table that doubles as a talking piece, this is it.
The pine has been cleaned down and coated with yacht varnish to enrich the wonderful colour of the wood and also make it extremely hard wearing for outdoor use. The trapdoor also retains its original fittings underneath.
The legs are extremely heavy brushed steel, lacquered to maintain their finish. Over time, you may like to let them rust over which we think would look wonderful against the antique pine finish. Either way, this coffee table is equally well suited to indoor or outside use.
IN A PAST LIFE…
The table top was a trapdoor in a Norfolk Church, fitted around the 18th Century we think.
The heavy steel legs are part of a 1950’s Massey Ferguson tractor lifting arm. The rest of the arms have been made into an extremely heavy outdoor bench (photos coming soon)
