North Norfolk

JAD/ March 12, 2019/ Environment, Life, Love, Re purpose, redesign, recreate, renew., recycling, Sustainability

North Norfolk is where we’re based. We travel from time to time, wandering around stimulates new ideas and also takes us to new work, sometimes. Nomadic, happy but essentially based here. I’ve traveled for decades and this is the first place I genuinely consider home. Perhaps not the bricks and mortar that most people consider home but home non the less and possibly more appreciative for being more fully immersed in the natural environment rather than an entirely man made, concrete bound one.

Spring is beginning to peep through shrubs, trees and the winter battered earth. It’s approaching stunning and offers a cornucopia of tiny points of beauty even now, even at the beginning of a cold, blustery March.

We love North Norfolk and we’ll love it even more IF…… and now I refer to a much earlier post …… Read it if you want but if you can’t be bothered, last May saw us launch a bid for new premises. As things do, it all changed and everything went on hold. We’re now however, on a second try and our fingers are even more FIRMLY CROSSED!!! Hope, hope and more hope……

NEW HORIZONS……

The edge of our potential paradise

That’s a snippet, a taster, a reminder to us of what we’re aiming for.

Our vision? A tiny patch of North Norfolk radiating beauty and immersed in a loving appreciation of everything. It’s heavily protected as this beautiful patch of land should be, from almost everything apart from what’s already there. We’re happy with that and happy to blend in with the natural and wondrous environment.

CONTRADICTION?

We aim to be surrounded by a natural environment yet we bring into it the waste of man made endeavors. A contradiction perhaps but also a challenge.

One way or another, that waste will go back to whence it came; the earth, the air and the sea. The waste is more than just the apparent landfill and ‘rubbish’, the waste is that each component of every product at the end of its life was once carefully designed and produced. It only takes one of those elements to break, and the whole thing is discarded.

Some things catch our eye for their own bizarre and intrinsic beauty. We bring it back to whatever natural haven we occupy, infuse it with the beauty of our surroundings and our vision and bring new life to waste that suddenly fits again. Fits the natural environment, fits beauty.

Why not? We’re all part of this earth, even the things we produce, including plastics, are therefore natural, a natural progression of man.

We ask one thing though, that instead of destroying this poor planet, open your mind and vision and rebirth your waste into something new. That’s what we try and do, with beauty, love and compassion.

Enjoy spring and allow yourselves and your creativity to also blossom.

xx
